The Pats Pull It Off Again

By: Cindy Ferguson

The New England Patriots were able to pull another shock breaking win against the Baltimore Ravens this past Monday night.

The nerve wrecking game ended 27-24 with Tom Brady’s 8-yard touchdown in the last 44 seconds of the game, which allowed the Patriots to become the sixth team in the NFL history to start a season with 12 victories. It was a surprise to many that a team which has lost five straight games would give the Pats such a hard time.

Ravens Cornerback, Chris McAlister, blamed his team’s loss to the officiating held through the game and particularly in reference to a late holding call on the rookie safety Jamaine Winborne. He even made the following comment reflecting his feeling towards the situation; "It's hard to go out there and play the Patriots and the refs at the same time," McAlister complained. "They put the crown on top of them, they want them to win. They won." Barely.

Although Brady was very much happy regarding the outcome of the game he did state to the press the need to improve in the remaining four weeks of the season and he also the stressed the fact to things much better. Brady along with Manning, Dan Marino and Kurt Wagner are all quarterbacks who have thrown for a minimum of 40 touchdowns throughout a season.

On the other hand; coach Bill Belichick mentioned the necessity to work on the team’s offense, defense and every other area the Patriots need work on. Belichick is looking towards keeping the flawless record intact and it is only four wins away from becoming the first team to ever score a 16-0 regular season win.

Even though the team is the road favorite three of their remaining games will be held at home and they are to face the Pittsburgh Steelers, Miami Dolphins and New York Jets with one road trip against the New York Giants.
