The Wild entered the 2007-2008 playoffs as the number one in the Northwest conference but lost in the quarterfinals to Avalanche (4-2).

The team’s current Head Coach is the Canadian Jacques Lemaire who has been coaching the Wild since their first ever season in 2000. He holds a record of 1049 games, 500 wins and 381 loses.

The Wild play their home games  at the Xcel Energy Center which first opened in 2000 located in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
