The Seattle Mariners have been a professional baseball team since the mid 70’s (1977).
The team has struggled as an expansion franchise but has managed to achieve 4 Division titles stating in the mid 90’s and the most recent one in 2001.
Some of Mariners’ players who will not be forgotten as they were the ones to posses the fortune to lead the team to its best moments are: Ken Griffey (center midfielder), Randy Johnson (pitcher), Edgar Martinez (third baseman) and right fielder Jay Buhner.
The year prior to obtaining the third and last division title the Mariners were declared Wild Card winners.
The Mariners won over the White Sox but had an unfortunate loss in six games against the New York Yankees. |
The team managed to finished second in the league by the end of the 2007 campaign with 88 wins and74 loses.
As far as this season is concerned the Mariners rely on players such as: Miguel Batista, Sean White, Cesar Jimenez, and Yun Chin Chen who will be the stepping stones to achieve a new title or perhaps the first World Series.
