The Marlins had their best success under Jack McKeon, who led the team to their only stretch of three consecutive winning seasons.

The team has been highly fortunate to play in the era where "wild card" teams can win the World Series despite not having a home field advantage during the entire post-season.

Amongst some of the most accomplished Marlins players there are: Carl Barger, Joe DiMaggio and Jackie Robinson.

During the 2007 campaign the Marlins achieved 71 wins, 91 loses, and a percent of .500; finishing in fifth position in the league. The team’s sixteen seasons have been played at the Dolphin Stadium located in Miami Gardens, South Florida.
