Participating in the Major League Soccer, FC Dallas is a soccer team located in Frisco, Texas. From its foundation in 1996 to 2004, the team was called Dallas Burn.
Cotton Bowl was the home of the club, which played in this stadium from 1996 to 2002, but due to the expensive lease with the Cotton Bowl, the team decided to play its 2003 home games at Dragon Stadium.
For the 2004 season, the Dallas Burn decided to return to the Cotton Bowl due to their fans were asked it and because they could not sale alcohol at a public high school.
In 2005, the team decided to change it name to FC Dallas. FC stands for Football Club. |
This same year the team premiered its new home, the Pizza Hut Park. In 2006, the official supporters' club named the Hoops Nation was created. The others active support’s groups are Inferno and La Raza Latina.
The FC Dallas colors are red, white, silver, and blue and are called FCD, The Red Stripes, the Waldos, and the Toros. Chicago Fire is the strongest FC Dallas' rival, this two teams competes since 2001 for the Brimstone Cup.
